Trying to start an affiliate marketing business?

You could literally make thousands of dollars each month if you apply yourself and learn the ins and outs of affiliate marketing. Of course I can’t promise that you will make anything because I have no idea whether or not you will actually do what it takes.

With that being said, let’s move on…

In order to succeed in the affiliate marketing business, you first need to be aware of any scams that may be out there, so always do your homework!


Here are 7 affiliate marketing tips to get you started.

1. Link trackers can be significant in letting you know what’s going on with your affiliate promotions.

Advanced link trackers like Google Analytics can show the complete path of a visitor through your site and even, strangely, after leaving your site. This is especially ideal if you promote for multiple affiliate programs.

2. Engage your prospects to increase your affiliate sales.

If you spend time communicating with the people who read your blog or follow you on Facebook, you will find their loyalty builds to a level where they want to buy the products/services that you promote.

3. When doing product reviews, why not interview the product creator on video?

Product reviews are a great way to promote your offers, they let your prospects know ahead of time what to expect before they buy.

It is so much more valuable see the actual product creator on screen discussing the features and benefits of their product.

This  will engage your audience much better than a written review or just you on screen talking about it yourself.

4. When it comes to affiliate marketing, you need to have a lot of patience.

This is a very important quality to have because most online businesses don’t take off overnight; it may be awhile before you see a steady stream of income.

Just remember to be determined, and that one day, your hard work will pay off. Patience is a virtue that is absolutely essential for any online marketer.

5. It is important to know your audience as an affiliate marketer.

If you blog about weight loss, don’t promote products for muscle building. The more an affiliate offer relates to what your site or is about, the higher the chances are that your current followers will use the affiliate links.

6. You should build a list of targeted prospects from quality traffic sources.

I cannot stress enough how much of a difference this made in my own business once I learned how to build a list. I’m talking night and day here.

One of the main reasons you want to do this is because most people simply will not buy from you on the first exposure to your offer. It’s been said that it takes about 7 exposures before the average person will make a purchase.

For that reason alone, you want the people on your email list to come to know, like and trust you.

Once you have proven to your prospects that you can actually help them, they are much more likely to buy from you.

7. In any affiliate marketing campaign you need to keep track of what is producing.

You don’t want the premiere space on your blogs and websites being devoted to affiliate products that are not selling and making you money. I tend to rotate offers on my blog pretty quickly if something is not converting.

So keep track of what is good and what is bad and reserve that prime space for the money makers and get rid of the dead weight.

So there you have it.
